X-Cart's SEMA Data integration can import from SEMA Data information about the brands that you have been authorized to work with (i.e. your approved brands). The list of your approved brands can be viewed and adjusted in your SEMA account backend. To get information about your approved brands from your SEMA account, the integration needs to be properly connected to SEMA Data. Until then, your store will have no information about your approved brands. In the screenshot below, you can see what the Data Import page for X-Cart SEMA Data integration looks like before any brands have been imported.

Once your X-Cart's SEMA integration has been successfully connected to SEMA Data, you can import your approved brands from your SEMA account. If, at a later time, the list of your approved brands in SEMA changes, you will be able to update the list of brands in your X-Cart store by doing a re-import of brands.

Importing Brands

To import brands from SEMA Data:

  1. Go to the Data Import page for SEMA Data integration in your X-Cart store's Admin area (Catalog > SEMA Data, Data Import tab).

  2. Click the Import Brands button at the bottom of the screen.

The integration will import your approved brands from SEMA Data. You should be able to see the respective status message at the top right-hand side of the screen. The imported brands will be listed in the Available Brands section of the Data Import page.

For detailed info on the Available Brands list after brands import, see Importing Catalog Data from SEMA Data.

The brands imported from SEMA Data will be added to your store's general list of brands on the Brands page (Catalog > Brands).

Re-importing Brands

To keep your brands information in sync with the information in SEMA Data, it is possible to do a re-import of brands.

To re-import brands from SEMA Data:

  1. Go to the Data Import page for SEMA Data integration in your X-Cart store's Admin area (Catalog > SEMA Data, Data Import tab).

  2. Click the Re-Import Brands button at the bottom of the screen.

The integration will do a re-import of brands. You should be able to see the respective status message at the top right-hand side of the screen. The list of brands in the Available Brands section will be updated.

Note that the import process will not remove any brands from your X-Cart store; it will only add new brands and update existing ones. If a brand previously imported is no longer available in the SEMA Data database, it will be marked as such in the Available Brands list, indicating that you cannot import catalog data for that brand. Additionally, if a brand imported from SEMA Data matches a brand name already present in your X-Cart store at the time of import, the brands will be merged.
