Importing Brands from Turn14 Distribution

Before your X-Cart store can import product data from Turn14 Distribution, it needs to import brands. To import brands, your store needs to be correctly connected to Turn14 Distribution.

Importing Brands

Before any brands have been imported into your X-Cart store from Turn14 Distribution, you will find that the Data Import page for Turn14 Distribution integration does not list any brands.

To import brands from Turn14:

  1. Go to the Data Import page for Turn14 Distribution integration in your X-Cart store's Admin area (Catalog > Turn14, Data Import tab).

  2. Click the Import Brands button at the bottom of the screen.

    The integration will import brands data from Turn14 Distribution. You should expect to be informed about the progress of the import process via status messages at the top right-hand side of the screen. Note that the status information is not updated in real-time; to get the most up-to-date information about the current status of the brands import process, refresh the page. The imported brands will be listed in the Available Brands section of the Data Import page.

    For each of the brands, you will be able to see the brand name and the brand AAIA ID (listed in the Brand ID column). The brand AAIA ID serves as a unique brand identifier.

    The same brands will be added to your store's general list of brands on the Brands page (Catalog > Brands).

Re-importing Brands

To keep your brands information in sync with the information in the Turn14 Distribution database, it is possible to do a re-import of brands.

To re-import brands from Turn14 Distribution:

  1. Go to the Data Import page for Turn14 Distribution integration in your X-Cart store's Admin area (Catalog > Turn14, Data Import tab).

  2. Click the Re-Import Brands button at the bottom of the screen.

    The integration will do a re-import of brands. You should expect to be informed about the progress of the re-import process via status messages at the top right-hand side of the screen. Note that the status information is not updated in real-time; to get the most up-to-date information about the current status of the brands re-import process, refresh the page. On completion of the re-import process, the status will be "Brand import completed":

    During a re-import of brands, the integration determines whether a certain brand is a new or an existing one based on its AAIA ID.

    Note that the import process will not remove any brands from your X-Cart store; it will only be able to add new brands and update existing brands. If a previously imported brand is found to be no longer present in the Turn14 database, the respective brand will be marked in the Available Brands list to let you know that you will not be able to import catalog data for that brand.
