When setting up your store's MMY (Make/Model/Year) configuration for use with ATD, the data source you intend to use will determine the appropriate settings.
ATD vs. Other Auto Data Providers
Unlike other auto data providers integrated with X-Cart, ATD uses the MMY configuration with "Trim" (Make / Model / Year / Trim) instead of "Submodel" (Make / Model / Year / Submodel). This difference introduces some compatibility limitations when using ATD alongside other data providers. Essentially, you have two options for using ATD:
Using ATD as a Standalone Solution
Process: Import vehicles directly from ATD and use their fitments.
Pros: You can leverage "Trim" as the fourth level in your store's MMY configuration.
Cons: The initial import of vehicles and fitments from ATD is time-consuming (potentially taking days). Additionally, this approach does not allow for the use of ATD in conjunction with other catalog provider or warehouse distributor integrations.
Using ATD with Other Catalog Providers/Warehouse Distributors
Process: Import vehicles from an ACES-compatible source (AutoSync); DO NOT import vehicles from ATD; disable the import of fitments from ATD (uncheck "Fitments" in the ATD Import Options).
Pros: This allows you to use ATD alongside other X-Cart's auto data provider integrations.
Cons: You won’t be able to use "Trim" as a level in your store's MMY configuration.
Setting Up Your MMY Configuration
Depending on your chosen data source, you need to configure your store's MMY configuration as follows:
ATD Standalone: Set the MMY configuration to Make / Model / Year / Trim.
ACES-Compatible Source (e.g., AutoSync): Set the MMY configuration to Make / Model / Year / Submodel.
You can arrange the levels in any order that suits your needs (e.g., Trim / Year / Model / Make), as long as the level names match those specified above. To check and adjust your store's MMY configuration, navigate to the Vehicles & Fitments Settings page in the Admin backend (Catalog > Vehicles & Fitments, Settings tab).
