If you are going to import products from ATD, they will need to use some sort of structure in your X-Cart store. It is presupposed that the imported products will be placed in categories.
You can configure category mapping rules on the Category Mapping tab of the ATD Integration page.
After importing brands, you will also need to specify which categories to import products from for each brand.
