Learn how to manage your existing coupons

You can manage your existing coupons via your X-Cart store's back end. Find out how you can:

Disable Coupons

You can disable any coupon to make it temporarily inactive and prevent it from being redeemed by shoppers.

To disable a coupon:

  1. Find the coupon you require on the Coupons page (Discounts > Coupons) and click the ON/OFF switch for it.

  2. Click Save changes.

The coupon will be disabled. To re-enable the coupon, reset the ON/OFF switch for it and click Save changes again.

Delete Coupons

You can delete coupons to remove them permanently.

To delete a coupon:

  1. Find the coupon you require on the Coupons page (Discounts > Coupons) and click on the Trash icon opposite its name.

  2. Click Save changes.

The coupon will be deleted.

Edit Coupon Details

You can edit existing coupons to change their details (coupon code, comment, active/inactive status, discount amount, validity period, etc.)

To edit a coupon:

  1. On the Coupons page (Discounts > Coupons), find the coupon you require and click on its name.


    You will see the coupon details page.

  2. Edit the coupon details as you require:

    • Adjust the coupon settings on the Info tab of the coupon details page and click Update.

    • On the Products tab of the coupon details page, adjust the list of products to which the coupon is assigned; click Save changes.

The updated coupon details will be saved.

Unassign Coupons from Products (or edit the group of products to which it is assigned)

You can change the list of products to which a coupon is assigned.

To do so:

  1. On the Coupons page (Discounts > Coupons), find the coupon you require and click on the Products (N) link opposite its name.


    The Products tab of the coupon details page will be opened, displaying a list of products to which the coupon is assigned.

  2. Adjust the list of products as you require:

    • Use the Add products button to add more products.

    • Click on the Trash icons opposite the names of the products from which you wish to unassign the coupon. Click Save changes.

The updated list of products for the coupon will be saved.

Coupons Management via Bulk Editing

You can use the tool enabled by the Bulk Editing add-on to change the coupons assignments easily. It allows unassigning a coupon from a group of products, editing the group of products to which a coupon is assigned, and replacing a coupon with a different coupon.

For this purpose:

  1. Open the Products page (Catalog -> Products) and select the products you require:

  2. Click Coupons in the Bulk edit selector:

  3. On the page that opens, use the "Click to specify" button to select the coupon(s) you require from the list:


    (Click inside the Coupons field to see the list of coupons available and select the coupon(s) you require.)

  4. Specify the action you want to perform:

    • Remove: This action will unassign the selected coupons from the products.

    • Replace with: This action will remove the current coupon from products and assign another specified by you instead.

  5. Click Save changes.

The coupon assignments will be updated.
