The add-on is supported by X-Cart versions 5.2.0.x - 5.5.1.x and is currently DEPRECATED (removed starting with X-Cart 5.6.0).
To import data from Microsoft Excel, save your spreadsheet as a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file and import the resulting .csv file using X-Cart's built-in CSV Import feature.
Likewise, CSV files exported from X-Cart can be opened and edited in Microsoft Excel. After making your changes, simply save the file back in CSV format before importing it into X-Cart again.
Important: When saving a CSV file in Excel, make sure to keep the file in CSV format. Saving it as an Excel workbook (.xlsx) will make it incompatible with X-Cart's CSV Import tool.
The add-on Excel Export/Import extends the default X-Cart with a possibility to import and export data in XLS (Excel 5), XLSX (Excel 2007), ODS (OpenDocument) formats.
Follow the general instructions from Installing Add-ons from X-Cart App Store to install the add-on.
After installing the add-on, the XLS, XLSX, and ODS formats become available on the Import and Export pages in your store's Admin area.
