Quite a typical case in an e-commerce routine is when a customer does not want to buy the product of their choice right at the moment and wants to keep the info about it for possible future references. They may do this to wait for the upcoming discount offer or whatever else. Such cases are covered by the wishlist functionality provided by the My Wishlist add-on in X-Cart.
With the My Wishlist add-on installed and enabled, your customers can collect their favorite products into a single list. They can buy these products later, track them in the catalog and email the list to friends. Also, a wishlist makes their search through the vast amount of items faster. That counts for customer satisfaction and also increases the user-friendliness of your website.
Almost every product listing page on your site provides the option to add a product to a wishlist:
Once a customer adds a product to the wishlist, this product gets a Red Heart mark-icon.
Buyers can reach the wishlist page in the storefront from:
The store admin can also check the customer's wishlist in the Wishlist tab of a user profile (Users -> Users List) in the Admin area:
Offering wishlists is an effective way to reduce shopping cart abandonment and fulfill sales from customers who showed intent but didn't end up purchasing. Wishlists are mutually beneficial: they give customers an easy way to remind themselves of a product and help merchants measure product interest beyond a clear-cut sale.
Besides that, a wishlist introduces your site to new customers. Many of them may then convert to buyers (if they are referred to) as the My Wishlist add-on also allows a customer to send an email to friends or relatives with the product details and buying option.
The "send wishlist" option is available to a customer on the Wishlist page in the customer account in the storefront.
The "send wishlist" option allows viral marketing for your website as another person gets to know about your website and products sold through it.
Wishlists can also encourage users to sign up for an account if they have not otherwise.
