In case your online store has the Royal Mail Services add-on installed and enabled, and you use it to ship orders, the add-on facilitates the following admin activities:

Creating Royal Mail Shipments

When an order gets a PAID payment or PROCESSING fulfillment status, a Royal Mail shipment is created automatically on the Royal Mail server. If the order status is changed back to NEW, the existing Royal Mail shipment cancels automatically.

After creating a shipment, X-Cart sends a request to Royal Mail and receives a tracking number that is automatically assigned to the order and registered on the order details page:

Suppose, for some reason, automatic shipment creation failed. In that case, a store administrator can do it manually by clicking the green Create RM Shipment button at the bottom of the order details page:

This green button then switches to the red Cancel RM Shipment one. The latter becomes unavailable after the order manifest is sent to Royal Mail.

If the order details change (e.g., the change of shipping address, etc.) Royal Mail shipment is updated automatically on the Royal Mail server. Once an order manifest is sent to Royal Mail, all shipments get fixed and can't be changed or canceled.

Printing Order Labels

To print an order label or international document, a cart admin should use respective buttons at the top of the page:

Please note that you will need the "ImageMagick" library on the server to resize shipping labels while printing. With the "ImageMagick" library installed, the label will be available for printing by clicking the Packing Slip button at the top of the page.

Make sure the "ImageMagick" library is installed on the server hosting your X-Cart store for you.

A merchant will then need to affix the shipping label and international document to a shipping container specifying its content:

Sending Order Manifests

To send an order manifest to Royal Mail, a cart admin should use the Send manifest button opposite the order in question in the Orders > Royal Mail Manifests section:

IMPORTANT: It will not be possible to change the shipping information and cancel the Royal Mail shipment for the order after you submit the manifest.

Then the store admin should print off a Royal Mail manifest using the Print manifest button opposite the order in question in the Orders > Royal Mail Manifests section and handover it with a shipping container:
