Vehicle data represents combinations of year, make, model, and submodel/trim corresponding to specific vehicles. These combinations are used to create filters allowing customers to find auto parts based on their compatibility with a particular vehicle make, model, year, and submodel/trim.

When using X-Cart's ATD integration, you can import vehicle data from ATD or a different auto data provider integration (like AutoSync). See ATD vs. Other Auto Data Providers.

Important: Before importing vehicle data, ensure your store's MMY configuration has been configured properly. It must be set to one of the following:

  • Make / Model / Year / Trim (if using ATD integration as a standalone solution and importing vehicle data from ATD);

  • Make / Model / Year / Submodel (if using ATD in conjunction with another auto data provider integration and importing vehicle data from that other data provider integration).

You can check and adjust your store's MMY configuration on the Vehicles & Fitments Settings page in the Admin backend (Catalog > Vehicles & Fitments, Settings tab).

You are free to use any number of levels (2, 3, 4) and to arrange the levels in any order you prefer.

To import vehicles:

  1. In the Admin area, go to the Vehicles & Fitments page (Catalog > Vehicles & Fitments).

  2. Make sure you are viewing the All Vehicles tab. Click the Import Vehicles button.

    A drop-down menu will be expanded, allowing you to select the data source. Click on the name of the data source you require ("ATD" to import vehicles from ATD; name of a different auto data provider - for instance, "AutoSync" - to import vehicles from that auto data provider).

    The import of vehicle data will be started. You will be able to track the import progress via a progress bar.

    If anything goes wrong during a vehicle data import, you will be able to interrupt the process using the Cancel link near the progress bar and restart the import anew.

    The imported vehicle data will appear on the same page.

    After the import is completed, you should see a success message at the top of the page saying, "Vehicle data import completed."

    You can quickly access the imported vehicle data using the View vehicles link on the Data Import page of the respective integration. The link gets you to the All Vehicles tab of the Vehicles & Fitments page.
