What is Dealer Locator?
Dealer Locator is an add-on for X-Cart Automotive stores that creates a page listing all the places where people can buy your products. Think of it as a built-in address book, showing each dealer’s location, contact details, and operating hours. It also includes an interactive map to help buyers find the nearest spot to explore your products in person.

How Can Dealer Locator Help Your Business?
Dealer Locator is a marketing tool for companies selling automotive products through multiple retail locations, and as such, it is most valuable for:

Setting Up Dealer Locator
Access Dealer Locator settings in the Admin Area using one of two methods:
Method 1: Via My Apps

Showing Dealer Locator on a Storefront
The Dealer Locator add-on brings a Find Your Dealer page to your website. This page displays a dealer list and map to help customers locate dealers.
Use the toggle 🕹️ at the top of the Dealer Locator settings to show or hide this page.
Configuring a Map
As mentioned earlier, the Find Your Dealer page also includes an interactive map.
To set it up, choose a geolocation service to power the map:
Go to Dealer Locator Settings (Store › Shipping › Dealer Locator).
Under the Map Settings, click on the
Map Providerselector.Choose a service from the list.

Currently, the Dealer Locator add-on supports:

Adding a New Dealer Address
The main feature of the Find Your Dealer page is a list of dealers, displayed as individual cards with details like name, address, and contact info. Each dealership branch with a unique address needs its own card.
To add a new dealership card:
Go to Store › Shipping › Dealer Locator.
Click the
'New Address'button.On the next page, complete the required fields.
Click
'Create'to add the dealership. Your changes will save automatically.

Completing Dealer Information
Here are some tips and examples on how to correctly fill each dealer locator attribute for international use:
Attribute | Recommended formatting | Example |
Dealer Name | Use the full name of the dealership as found on the official website, legal documents, or Google. |

Address | Any structured format, as long as it is used across the list for consistency. |

City | Full city name. |

Country | Full country name or ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code. |

State (Optional) | Full state name or ISO 3166-2 state code. |

Zip Code | Text (String), as zip codes can contain letters in some countries. |

Adding a Dealership Waypoint to the Map
To display a dealership on the map, add the exact coordinates of it's location. You can do this manually in the X-Cart Admin area when you add a new dealer address or import them in bulk via CSV.
Note: Make sure the coordinates are in the correct format. Incorrect numbers may place the dealership in the wrong location on the map. See the example below.

Editing / Deleting Existing Dealer Address
Click on the pencil icon (✏️) next to the address you want to modify. Click on the trash can icon (🗑️) next to the address you want to delete. Then click Save changes .

Importing Dealer Addresses in Bulk via CSV File
The Dealer Locator adds several new CSV fields. Learn how to use them in this guide. If you already have a ready CSV file, here's how to import it:
Go to Store › Shipping › Dealer Locator.
Click
Import addresses.Press
Choose filesunder Upload files section.Choose file to upload.
Click
Start Import.

Customer Experience
To access the Dealer Locator page, customers need to click on the three lines to open the menu and select Find Your Dealer.

Search Bar
At the top of the dealer locator page there is a search bar 🔍 . It allows customers to filter dealers by city, state, or zip code. If no results are found, an error message will display: "No dealer found for your location."

Dealer List and Map
Below the search bar, customers will see:
A scrollable list of dealers, as set in the admin area.
An interactive map with waypoints matching the coordinates of the dealers.
Clicking on a waypoint 📍 centers the map on that dealer and displays a popup with the dealer's contact details. The same happens, when a dealer is selected from the list:

When the list is filtered using search 🔍 , only matching dealers will be displayed on both the list and the map.

The user experience on phones is similar to that on desktop.
