After importing and mapping categories, you need to set up the General Settings to define how your store handles pricing, stock, and order management.

Here, we’ll explain how to prevent catalog imports from overwriting manual stock and pricing changes, automate order fulfillment, prioritize product sourcing, and ensure vendor pricing compliance.

Before you begin

  1. Connect your Auto Integration with your API Credentials.

  2. Ensure all product categories are imported and mapped correctly.

Accessing general settings for catalog import

You can adjust the General Settings in the same section where you configure auto integrations.

In your X-Cart Admin:

  1. Go to CatalogCatalog ImportSettings.

  2. Select General.

Accessing General Settings

Data and order management settings

Enable Update manually edited price and stock data to allow imports from Catalog Providers and Warehouse Distributors to overwrite any price or stock values you've changed manually.

Enable Submit orders to suppliers automatically to let your store send orders to connected Warehouse Distributors without manual review.

⚠️ Note that not all integrations support this feature.

Stock & price priority

Use this setting to control which warehouse your store ships from when the same product is available from multiple suppliers – including your own inventory (My Store) and any connected Warehouse Distributors. You can choose from three options:

With the highest cost prices

Your store will prioritize suppliers with higher cost prices and try to sell from them first.

With the lowest cost prices

Your store will prioritize suppliers with lower cost prices.

According to stock priorities

Your store will check suppliers in the order set in the Suppliers list, starting from the top.

Use the drag-and-drop in the Suppliers list to set a custom stock priority order.

Setting custom stock priorities

No matter which of three prioritization options you choose, your store will go down the list of suppliers one by one until it finds one with the item in stock. That supplier’s price and available quantity will then be shown on the product page.

MAP settings

In this section, you can choose how your store handles MAP (Minimum Advertised Price pricing.

💡 What is MAP (Minimum Advertised Price)?

It's the lowest price you can display a product for in your store, as set by the manufacturer or supplier. MAP ensures fair competition between you and other retailers. Listing a price below MAP could lead to legal action.

Use selector to choose between three options:

Use Your Vendor MAP

Prevents prices from dropping below the MAP set by the vendor.

Use the Highest MAP

Sets your price to the highest MAP across all suppliers to avoid underpricing. Which is ideal if you use multiple warehouse distributors.

Disable MAP Enforcement

Allows your prices to go below MAP.

Import by vehicle

This section allows you to limit the import of products from auto intergrations by vehicle.

Enable Enable filtering by vehicle to allow import of parts only for the vehicles enabled in your store. Leave disabled to include parts for all possible vehicles.

💡 Note that regular and universal products will be imported in any case.

For the setting to function properly, ensure you have a correct list of vehicles under Catalog Vehicles & Fitments (All Vehicles tab). You can make changes to this list either manually or by using import from auto integrations.

Success! Your import preferences are set up!

Click Save changes to finish. These settings will apply to all brands and products you import from now on.

What’s next?

Now, import the brands offered by your auto integration. This will show you all the manufacturers and suppliers available, so you can choose which products to add to your store later.
