Some stores sell a wide range of parts that could fit dozens—or even hundreds—of vehicles. But assigning or updating those vehicle fitments one by one? That’s not just tedious—it’s risky. A single mistake can cost sales, confuse customers, or leave your catalog inconsistent across integrations.

Your X-Cart Admin lets you assign, replace, or remove vehicle fitments for multiple products in bulk. This saves time, reduces errors, and keeps your catalog accurate.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to: assign fitment types in bulk, link vehicle models to multiple products and troubleshoot common issues.

Why do you need to edit fitments in bulk

Managing fitment data for multiple products at once is especially helpful when updating large product sets or correcting catalog inconsistencies.

⭐ From the Bulk Edit Fitments page, you can:

Assign a new fitment type to several products.
Add, replace with, or remove vehicle fitments for multiple vehicle-specific products.
Review applied changes before saving.

Locate fitment bulk edit

Go to Catalog › Products.
Select the products you want to edit.
Click Bulk edit selected or Bulk edit all.
In the dropdown select Fitments to open Bulk edit fitments page.

Here you can assign fitment types and vehicle fitments

Assign fitment type to multiple products

On the Bulk edit fitments page:

Click Change fitment type to and select the fitment type (Regular Product, Universal Fit, Vehicle Specific).
Click Save changes to apply the new fitment type.

If you select Vehicle Specific, you must specify at least one vehicle before saving.

Add, replace or remove vehicle fitments

To specify vehicle fitments for products:

Change the fitment type to Vehicle Specific.
In the Vehicles section, click Click to specify to open the selectors.
Choose Make, Model, Year (from–to), and Submodel.
Click the + icon to add selected vehicle or the X icon to remove one.
Repeat as needed to include additional vehicles.
Select how to apply these changes using one of the available options.
Click Save changes to apply.

When you specify a year range, vehicles for all years in that range will be added automatically.

Choose how to apply vehicle fitments

Decide how the selected vehicles will be applied to your vehicle-specific products:

Add	Add the selected vehicles to all vehicle-specific products in the list.
Replace with	Replace existing vehicle fitments with the new ones for all vehicle-specific products.
Remove	Remove the selected vehicles (if any) from all vehicle-specific products.

If your selection includes products with Regular or Universal Fit types, those items will be ignored. To include them, change their fitment type first.

Troubleshooting

After clicking Save changes, the X-Cart can display one of the following warnings in case of a problem. Here we provide a solution to fix them:

Problem	How to fix
⚠️ Attention! Vehicles can't be assigned to products with Universal or Regular fitment type.	✅ Change fitment type to Vehicle Specific and try again.
⚠️ Attention! A vehicle-specific fitment type can be assigned to a product only if at least one vehicle is specified.	✅ Specify the Make, Model, Year (from–to), and Submodel of at least one vehicle
