The Brand Mapping tab in X-Cart Auto provides a consolidated view of how brand data received from installed automotive integrations corresponds to the brands configured in your store. This page enables you to review and validate brand alignment before importing product data, helping ensure data consistency across multiple sources.

Different automotive integrations may use slightly different naming conventions or identifiers for the same manufacturer. The Brand Mapping page allows you to:

  • Compare brand data received from integrations with your store’s brands.

  • Verify that identical brands from different sources are correctly matched.

  • Identify inconsistencies before performing product imports.

⚠️ Note: The data displayed in this table is based on the initial import of brand information from integrations, not on the physical import of product catalog data into the store database.

Brand Mapping table structure

The Brand Mapping table is generated automatically and cannot be edited manually. It contains the following columns:

1. My Store brands

This column reflects how the brand is recognized by the Shop by Brands add-on.

Each entry includes:

  • Brand name

  • AAIA ID (if available)

This represents the authoritative brand configuration in your store.

2. [Integration Name] brands

For each installed and enabled automotive integration, a separate column is displayed.

These columns show either:

  • Brand name + AAIA ID (if available) as received from the integration during the brand information import process, or

  • A dash (-), if:

    • The brand is not present in that integration, or

    • Brand data has not yet been imported from that integration.

Integrations are appended to the table alphabetically, in separate columns added to the right.

How brand mapping works

The table aligns brand records from different integrations into a single row when they are recognized as the same brand.

Ideally:

  • One brand in your store

  • The same brand received from multiple integrations
→ appear together in a single row.

However, if brand data received from different integrations varies significantly (e.g., inconsistent name spelling or mismatched AAIA IDs), the system will not merge them. Instead:

  • Each variation will appear in a separate row.

  • This indicates that the brands are not properly matched.

Before importing products from integrations, you should carefully review the Brand Mapping table to confirm that:

  • Brands from all integrations are correctly aligned with your store brands.

  • Identical brands from different integrations form a single unified row.

  • No unintended duplicate brand entries exist.

If you notice that the same brand appears on separate rows, you must adjust the brand configuration at the individual brand level (e.g., unify the brand name and/or AAIA ID). Once standardized, subsequent product imports will correctly associate products with the proper brand.

Search functionality

A search form is located above the table, allowing you to quickly find brands by:

  • Brand name

  • AAIA ID

This is particularly useful for stores with a large number of brands.

The Brand Mapping page serves as a critical validation step in your catalog import workflow, helping maintain brand data integrity across integrations and ensuring accurate product-brand relationships throughout your store.
