X-Cart supports two types of payment methods.

  • Offline payment methods allow customers to check out without submitting payment information. For example, Phone Ordering, Check, Money Order, Wire Transfer, COD, etc.

  • Online payment methods allow customers to enter their payment information online, so you automatically receive the payment via the respective payment system — for example, Paypal, Authorize.Net, 2Checkout, Skrill, etc.

A store administrator can check and maintain the list of payment methods available and enabled in the store on the Payment Methods or Payments page of the Admin area, depending on the software version you use.

The page displays both online and offline payment methods divided into separate sections.

The ON/OFF toggle indicates whether the payment is available for customers in the storefront.

To set up a payment method, click either the Configure or the Settings button depending on the version you use.
