This article applies to the specific software versions: X-Cart with Wholesale Add-on.
There are two ways to configure wholesale prices for product variants:
Wholesale Prices Depending on the Parent Product Price
If you set up product variants that have the same price as the parent product but not a variant-dependent price, you can define wholesale prices in the "Wholesale pricing" tab on the product details page as described here. The wholesale prices will be the same for all the variants.
If you set a wholesale price in percentages, please do mind that you define not a % discount on a product, but a cost in % from the parent product's price.
To set a wholesale price:
Click the "New tier" button.
Specify the quantity range in the line that opens.
Set a price in $ or % for the quantity you specified
Apply for the membership if required.
Save the changes when done.
Wholesale Prices Depending on a Product Variant Price
If you set up product variants to have prices different from the parent product price, you define the wholesale prices in the "Variants" tab on the product details page next to the product variant price.
You'll need to configure wholesale prices for each variant with a price different from the default one. For this purpose:
Click a "Percent-Box" icon next to the variant price field:
Set wholesale prices on a new page that opens:
Here you will need to:Click the "New tier" button.
Specify the quantity range in the line that opens.
Set a price in $ or % for the quantity you specified.
Apply for the membership if required.
Save the changes when done.
Once set up, the wholesale prices will become available in the customer storefront.
If product variants are configured depending on the parent product price, the variants' price will be the same for all of them. However, if they are configured depending on each product variant price, the price will differ for each variant a buyer views.
