With the add-on Simple CMS installed and enabled, your X-Cart store can provide a "Terms & Conditions" page for your store visitors. By default, a link to this page can be found on the storefront in the site footer menu.

Technically, the "Terms & Conditions" page is a content page. Like other content pages, it can be managed via the "Content Pages" tab of the "Menus & Pages" page (Store Design > Menus & Pages).

Initially, the "Terms & Conditions" page contains dummy text:

Before you make your store available to visitors, you should edit the dummy content of the "Terms & Conditions" page, replacing it with your actual terms and conditions statement. See:

Editing the "Terms and Conditions" Page Content

To replace the default text with your own "Terms and Conditions":

  1. In your store's Admin area, go to the "Menus & Pages" page (Store Design > Menus & Pages) and switch to the "Content Pages" tab.

  2. Locate the entry for the "Terms and Conditions" page and click on the page name.

  3. Edit the page details and content as you require.

  4. Click Save or Save & Close at the bottom of the page to save the changes.

Enabling/Disabling the "Terms and Conditions" Page

You can control the availability of the "Terms and Conditions" page to visitors.

To disable/enable the "Terms and Conditions" page:

  1. In your store's Admin area, go to the "Menus & Pages" page (Store Design > Menus & Pages), switch to the "Content Pages" tab and locate the entry for the "Terms and Conditions" page.

  2. Click on the ON/OFF switch next to the page name and choose the desired page state (green = enabled, grey = disabled).

  3. Click the Save changes button.

Deleting the "Terms and Conditions" Page

If you do not want to use X-Cart's Terms and conditions page at all, you can delete it:

  1. In your store's Admin area, go to the "Menus & Pages" page (Store Design > Menus & Pages), switch to the "Content Pages" tab.

  2. Locate the entry for the "Terms and Conditions" page and click on the Trash icon opposite its name:


    The page will be marked for deletion.

  3. Click Save changes. The page will be removed.

Hiding the "Terms and Conditions" Page from the Footer Menu

If you do not like to display the "Terms & Conditions" page link in the site footer, you can disable the link from being displayed in the footer menu. The link will be removed from the site footer, but your customers will still be able to access the "Terms & Conditions" page via a direct link which you can place anywhere on your site.

To hide the "Terms & Conditions" page link from the Footer menu:

  1. In your store's Admin area, go to the "Menus & Pages" page (Store Design > Menus & Pages), switch to the Select the Footer menu tab on the Menus page (Content > Menus) of your store's Admin area.

  2. On the list of footer menu items, locate the item "Info links" and click on the submenu items number link for it.

  3. On the page that opens, locate the menu item for "Terms and Conditions" and use the ON/OFF switch next to its name to disable the link (green = enabled, grey = disabled).

  4. Click Save changes.
