After importing your approved brands from SEMA Data, you should now have a list of available brands on the Data Import page for SEMA Data in your X-Cart store's Admin area (Catalog > SEMA Data, Data Import tab).

Before you proceed to import catalog data from SEMA Data, you will need to configure your import preferences for each of those brands.

If you no longer wish to import catalog data for a certain approved brand that has been imported into your store previously, you should remove this brand.

Editing Import Settings for a SEMA Data Brand

To configure your import preferences for a brand imported from SEMA Data:

  1. In the brands list, locate the brand for which you would like to adjust your import preferences and click the Settings button (gear icon) opposite the brand name. For example, to adjust the import preferences for the brand "AMS Performance", we will need to use this button:

    As a result, a page with the brand details and import settings opens.

  2. Check the brand's import settings and, if necessary, make the changes you require. For information on the settings that can be adjusted, see the sections Settings and Categories to import below.

  3. Click the Save changes button at the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

Settings

For each brand imported from SEMA Data, you can access the brand details and import settings on a page accessible by clicking the Settings button (gear icon) opposite the name of the brand on the brands list.

At the top of the page, you can see information on the brand status.

The brand will have one of the following statuses:

  • This brand is authorized.

    (Your X-Cart store has received confirmation that the brand is on the list of approved brands for your account)

  • This brand is not authorized.

    (Your X-Cart store has received information that the brand is not on the list of approved brands for your account)

The fields in the "Settings" section can be used to specify your import preferences for the brand.

  • Product SKU includes: A product SKU is formed using a Manufacturer Part Number and a Prefix/Suffix. Use this setting to specify whether products of this brand should acquire a prefix/suffix appended to their SKU during import. The prefix/ suffix part can be either the brand's AAIA Brand ID or a custom (user-defined) value. The following options are supported for SEMA Data:

    • Prefix, AAIA Brand ID (default);

    • Prefix, Custom (user-defined);

    • Suffix, AAIA Brand ID;

    • Suffix, Custom (user-defined);

    • No Prefix/Suffix.

    If an option including a custom (user-defined) prefix or suffix is selected, an additional field is provided so you can enter the custom prefix/suffix.

    A Custom SKU prefix/suffix can be up to 5 alphanumeric characters long.

  • Use SKU delimiter: Specify whether you want to use a hyphen as a delimiter between the prefix/suffix and MPN in the SKU.

  • Price to import: Configure price import rules for SEMA Data integration.

    SEMA Data enables the import of various price types. Within the "Price to import" settings group, you can specify which price types you want to import for products of this brand. The following options are available:

    • MAP;

    • Jobber;

    • Retail.

    Since not all price types may be available in the provider's catalog for every product, it's advisable to select multiple types and prioritize them. Ensure that the price types you choose to import are active by using the On/Off control. You must also arrange the price types in order of priority using the drag-and-drop control. The price type at the top of the list will be given priority during import. If this price type is unavailable for a product (e.g., missing from the provider catalog or set to zero), the next price type on the list will be used, and so forth.

    You can set a price adjustment for each price type. A positive value represents a markup, increasing the price, while a negative value indicates a discount, reducing the price. For instance, setting the price adjustment value to "-20.00" applies a 20% discount.

    Note that there are certain limitations on how price adjustment may be configured for specific price types:

    • MAP is the lowest price at which a product can be advertised; you cannot sell products imported from SEMA at a price lower than the MAP price. Therefore, it is not possible to set a discount on MAP prices, only a markup.

    • A product's selling price (after applying a discount) may not be lower than the MAP price.

  • Update price: Use this setting to fine-tune your price import preferences. The general setting to adjust the price import schedule for SEMA Data can be found on the "Import Schedule" tab of the SEMA Data integration page. The brand-specific setting on the current page overrides the general setting for this specific brand.

    The available options are identical to those for the general setting:

    • Disabled;

    • Hourly;

    • Daily.

  • Catalog import schedule: Use this setting to fine-tune your catalog import preferences.

    The general setting to adjust the catalog import schedule for SEMA Data can be found on the "Import Schedule" tab of the SEMA Data integration page. The brand-specific setting on the current page overrides the general setting for this specific brand.

Categories to import

The "Categories to import" section enables you to select the categories from which products should be imported for the brand.

Prior to selecting categories, import categories from SEMA Data. If you wish to import products into a different category structure than that of the SEMA Data catalog, also make sure to configure your category mapping rules before selecting the categories to import.

Note: The absence of configured category mapping will not prevent you from selecting the categories from which to import products.

For instructions on how to import categories, see Importing Categories from SEMA Data.

For information on category mapping, see Category Mapping for Automotive Integrations.

Selecting categories to import

For category selection, the "Categories to import" section provides a category tree widget.

You can expand/collapse specific levels of the tree to explore the tree structure.

To select a category as a source for product import, you should select the check box next to its name.

If you do not wish to import products from certain categories, simply leave those categories unselected.

It is possible to select or unselect all categories using the Select all / Unselect all links above the category tree.

After making any changes to the brand import settings, be sure to save them using the Save changes button at the bottom of the screen.

Syncing categories to import

To ensure that the category structure shown in the "Categories to import" section of the brand details aligns with the category structure in SEMA Data, you can sync the categories at any time using the Sync Categories button.

Deleting a Brand Imported from SEMA Data

To delete a brand:

  1. In the brands list, locate the brand that you need to delete and click on the gear icon opposite the brand name. For example, to delete the brand "AMS Performance", we will need to click on this icon:

    As a result, a page with the brand details and import settings opens.

  2. Click the Delete Brand button at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Confirm your request to delete the brand.

As a result, the brand data will be deleted from your store.

Should you wish to restore the deleted data, you will be able to do a re-import of brands.
