An X-Cart store integrated with Turn14 Distribution can import catalog data from Turn14 Distribution. Depending on your business needs, you may prefer to import all catalog data from Turn14 Distribution or use an alternative data source for catalog creation, only importing certain types of catalog data from Turn14 Distribution (typically, stock availability and price data).

To import catalog data from Turn14 Distribution:

  1. For lossless import of product fitment information, check and adjust your store's MMY configuration; then import vehicles. It can be done on the Vehicles & Fitments page in the Admin area of your store (Catalog > Vehicles & Fitments, Settings tab). You are free to arrange the levels in any order you prefer, just make sure the names are Make, Model, Year and Submodel. Please specifically note that the name Engine, which, depending on the version of X-Cart software you are using, may be used in your X-Cart store for one of the levels by default, will not function as a substitute for Submodel; you will have to manually replace the name Engine with Submodel to make it work.

  2. Import categories. This can be done either before or after importing brands. For detailed info on importing categories, see Importing Categories from Turn14 Distribution.

  3. After importing categories, you will be able to configure category mapping rules; see Category Mapping for Turn14 Distribution.

  4. Please be aware that to keep your X-Cart store's brands list in sync with the information in the source database, you may need to periodically re-import brands.

  5. After importing brands data, configure your import preferences for each of the brands. Each brand will have its own data import settings so that you can fine-tune your catalog data import on a per-brand basis. For details on configuring catalog data import, see Brand-specific Configuration of Catalog Data Import from Turn14 Distribution.

  6. Import vehicles using the Vehicles & Fitments page in the Admin area of your store (Catalog > Vehicles & Fitments, All Vehicles tab).

  7. Import catalog data. Depending on how you have configured your catalog data import preferences for specific brands, the import will be done automatically on schedule or will have to be initiated manually. See Importing Catalog Data from Turn14 Distribution.

  8. Once the catalog data has been imported into your store, you should be able to access it in your store's catalog. Please verify the catalog data consistency.

    • Catalog data importable via different auto data provider integrations may vary in level of detail, and you may find that after a successful import, some of the data you expect to see in your store's catalog may be missing. Make sure your store has all the necessary info for products and categories.

    • Check the status (active/inactive) for the imported products to reflect their actual availability. If using multiple auto data provider integrations simultaneously, check your store's stock and price priority settings. See Configuring Stock & Price Priority Settings.
