To use ATD, your X-Cart store will need an ATD-compatible catalog. Depending on your business needs, you may prefer to import all catalog data from ATD or use ATD in combination with other data sources for catalog creation, only importing certain types of catalog data from ATD (typically, stock availability and price data).
To get a catalog for ATD, follow the steps below:
Decide on the types of data you want to be imported from ATD and, if necessary, from other catalog providers that you are going to use as a source of catalog data (for example, AutoSync, ASAP Network, SEMA Data).
Check and adjust your store's MMY configuration [This is needed for vehicle and fitment data]. See Configuring Your Store's MMY Configuration for Use with ATD.
Configure the import options both for ATD and the other auto data provider integration(s) involved. For instructions on ATD import options, see Configuring the Import Options. Instructions for other auto data provider integrations can be found in the guides for those integrations.
Configure category mapping rules; see Category Mapping for ATD.
Import brands from ATD. If you are going to also use another catalog data provider as a source of data for your store's catalog, you need to import brands from it as well. Please be aware that to keep your X-Cart store's brands list in sync with the information in the source database, you may need to periodically re-import brands. Instructions for the import of brands from ATD are available in the article Importing Brands from ATD. Instructions for other auto data provider integrations can be found in the guides for those integrations.
After importing brands, configure your import preferences for each of the brands. Each brand will have its own data import settings, so you will be able to fine-tune your catalog data import on a per-brand basis. For details on configuring catalog data import settings for ATD brands, see Brand-specific Configuration of Product Import from ATD. Instructions for other auto data provider integrations can be found in the guides for those integrations.
Import vehicles for ATD using the Vehicles & Fitments page in the Admin area of your store (Catalog > Vehicles & Fitments, All Vehicles tab). See Importing Vehicles (ATD Integration).
If you wish to use automated data imports that will be done periodically on a schedule, configure the import schedule for your ATD brands. See Configuring the Import Schedule for ATD. Instructions for other auto data provider integrations can be found in the guides for those integrations.
Let your store import catalog data. Depending on how you have configured your catalog data import preferences for specific brands, the import will be done automatically on schedule or will have to be initiated manually. For instructions on importing data from ATD, see Importing Products from ATD. Instructions for other auto data provider integrations can be found in the guides for those integrations.
Once the catalog data has been imported into your store, you should be able to access it in your store's catalog. Please verify the catalog data consistency.
Catalog data importable via different auto data provider integrations may vary in level of detail, and you may find that after a successful import, some of the data you expect to see in your store's catalog may be missing. Make sure your store has all the necessary info for products and categories.
Check the status (active/inactive) for the imported products to reflect their actual availability. If using multiple auto data provider integrations simultaneously, check your store's stock and price priority settings. See Configuring Stock & Price Priority Settings.
