It is possible to set up memberships (membership levels) to give privileges to specific categories of customers and restrict access of other customers to these privileges. A customer may have no more than one membership at a time.

You can use memberships in a lot of ways. For example, memberships enable you to divide customers into groups (wholesale, retail, etc.) and do one or more of the following:

  • provide certain groups of customers with exclusive access to specific products and categories;

  • grant tax-exempt status or provide special tax rates to particular groups of customers;

  • create discounts, coupons, or special offers available only to specific groups of customers;

  • enable privileged payment options for a group of customers based on membership;

It is even possible to sell memberships to your customers.

This section provides information on the management of user memberships in X-Cart and an overview of ways to use memberships in your X-Cart store.
