When some products in your catalog have specific characteristics in common and need to be handled together, it may be a good idea to configure a product class for them.
To create a new product class:
On the product class listing page in your store's Admin area, click the New product class button:
X-Cart 5.4.x - Catalog > Classes & Attributes
X-Cart 5.5.x - Catalog > Classes & Attributes > Product Classes
Enter the new product class name on a blank line that appears below.
Click Save changes. The newly created product class will be saved and added to the product class list.
After creating a product class, it's necessary to add attributes and then assign products to it.
If necessary, you can edit the product class name or delete the product class altogether.
