If required, a store admin can edit product class names and delete product classes altogether. The changes will apply storewide and will affect all products assigned to the edited product class.
Editing Product Class Names
To rename a product class:
In your store's Admin area, go to the product classes listing page:
X-Cart 5.4.x - Catalog > Classes & Attributes
X-Cart 5.5.x - Catalog > Classes & Attributes > Product Classes
In the list, locate the product class that needs to be edited and hover your cursor over its name. An outline of the product class name field will display:
Click inside the field with the product class name and edit it as you need.
Once you have completed editing, click Save changes. The product class name will be updated.
Deleting Product Classes
Deleting a product class removes it from the product class list. Any products assigned to the product class lose the product class property and any related attributes that were assigned to it via this product class.
To delete a product class:
In your store's Admin area, go to the product classes listing page:
X-Cart 5.4.x - Catalog > Classes & Attributes
X-Cart 5.5.x - Catalog > Classes & Attributes > Product Classes
In the list of product classes, locate the product class that needs to be deleted and click on the "Trash" icon opposite its name.
The product class will be marked for deletion.
Click Save changes. The product class will be deleted.
