Overview of two ways to use Stripe as a payment option in X-Cart

Stripe allows you to accept credit and debit card payments in over 135 currencies. It supports Google Pay, Apple Pay, and popular European or Asian payment methods like iDEAL, Klarna and WeChat Pay.

Stripe is available in 45 countries, including the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, Japan, and more. It follows the highest security standards, including PCI DSS Level 1 certification, and complies with European regulations like PSD2 and SCA.

Stripe Processing Fees

Stripe charges a processing fee for each successful payment made with a domestic card. The exact fees vary by country. Here are a few examples:

  • US and Canada: 2.9% + 30¢ (USD or CAD)

  • Europe: 1.5% + €0.25

  • United Kingdom: 2.5% + €0.25

  • Japan: 3.6%

In X-Cart Marketplace (Legacy, 5.5.1 and earlier), Stripe lets you split payments between vendors, making it also a strong alternative to PayPal for Marketplaces.
