Tokenization, Security and Fraud Prevention
Use Processing section, to manage how customer card information is stored for future purchases, configure transaction amounts for card verification, IP address detection, and fraud prevention measures.
Use Payments Tokenization (Enabled by default
) – Allows customers to save cards for future purchases, subscriptions, and rebills. If disabled customers will be required to enter payment details each time they pay in your store. This improves security but much less convenient for returning buyers.
Card Tokenization Transaction Amount – Some gateways charge a small amount to verify a card (e.g., $1). If your gateway doesn’t support "zero-dollar" authorizations, you can set this amount here. This charge is automatically refunded after verification.
Detect Cloudflare Client IP Address – If your store is behind Cloudflare, customer IP addresses may appear as Cloudflare’s servers instead of the actual user. Enabling
this ensures ensures accurate customer IP detection for fraud analysis and security logs.
Enable Fraudulent activity prevention (Disabled by default
) – Adds a slight delay to payment processing to disrupt bots and automated fraud. Also introduces Google reCAPTCHA for potentially fraudulent users. Learn more.
Subscriptions Settings
Use Subscription section, to configure settings related to recurring payments, retry attempts, billing frequency, and customer notifications.
Number of rebill attempts for an unsuccessful charge – Set the maximum number of charge attempts for a failed subscription payment. Once the limit is reached, the subscription will be canceled, and the customer will receive an email notification about the payment failure and cancellation.
How often to attempt rebills for an unsuccessful charge (in days) – Set how often (in days) X-Payments should attempt to rebill after a failed charge.
📋 For example, if set to 3, X-Payments will retry charging the card every three days until the payment succeeds or reaches the maximum attempts.
Notify the customer of the upcoming payment X days in advance – decide how many days in advance customers should be notified about upcoming subscription payments.
