The basic product type you can use in X-Cart are regular products. You can enhance standard products with extra features to sell e-goods, services, pins, and subscriptions. Each new product type is activated via enabling a relevant add-on in the X-Cart App Store.
With all possible extensions, X-Cart supports the following types of products:
Regular products (default option; works for most tangible goods);
Product Variants (enabled via the Product Variants add-on);
Downloadable products, digital goods, or e-goods (enabled via the File Attachments and E-goods add-ons);
PIN Codes (enabled via the PIN Codes add-on);
Bookable products (enabled via the Booking add-on);
Bundle products (enabled via the Bundle products add-on);
Subscription products (available in X-Cart stores processing payments with X-Payments Cloud - via the add-on X-Payments Cloud Connector).
There are several ways to add products to your store. For example, you can use the built-in add/edit tool to manually create products one by one in the store Admin area. Alternatively, you can upload products to your store in bulk using a CSV-formatted file. There’s also an option for some X-Cart versions to migrate your product catalog from another platform to X-Cart using a migration app.
Hidden products. Hiding a product from the catalog is not a separate product type. In X-Cart 5.6.x, you can hide a product of any type from categories, search and recommendations while keeping it available by its direct link. See Hiding products from the catalog (X-Cart 5.6.x).
