The X-Cart Bundle Products add-on offers tools to group several products and sell them as a single unit for one price. This strategy is used to encourage customers to buy more products. Adding a bundle to your catalog is probably the most straightforward way to offer a few related products together. To make the offer more appealing, you can discount the entire package or individual items.

To start using the add-on, install it as described in Installing Addons from X-Cart App Store.

Once the add-on has been installed, you will find a new Bundle tab on the product details page where a store admin/vendor can add bundle components to the product.

To create a bundle, a store admin/vendor should follow the steps below:

  1. First, you'll need to create a new product as described here. This product will be the main product for a bundle.

  2. Locate the "Price & Inventory" section of the Info tab on the product details page

    • Set a special price for the product that will cover the costs of all components included.

NOTE: Ensure the price of a product bundle covers all included components and is less than the sum price of the parts.

The price difference will be automatically calculated and displayed in the bundle description on the storefront:

    • Enable the "Inventory tracking" option and leave the "Quantity in stock" field empty.

NOTE: The stock of a bundle depends on its components and is calculated and displayed automatically by the system.

Even if you specify the quantity in stock for a product bundle, the system will trace and display its inventory based on the least available component in stock.

  3. Proceed to the Bundle tab of the product details page and click the "Add components" button:

  4. Choose products for the bundle in a pop-up:

  5. Click Add products.

That's it! X-Cart will add the selected products to the bundle list as bundle components:

Besides that, each component product will automatically gain a unique "This product is a part of the following bundle(s)" record in the Bundle tab of its product details page:

The stock is updated for all related components when a bundle is ordered. Therefore, if any part is out-of-stock, the bundle also goes out of stock, and customers won't be able to buy it.

When making an order, a customer will see a list of products included in the bundle on the cart page and in the invoice:

  • Cart page

  • Invoice page

When processing an order, the store admin can print a packing slip as described here. If it is necessary to include all bundle components into a packing slip, the store admin must adjust the Bundle Products add-on configuration on the add-on settings page.
