A store admin can configure general rules for product sorting in the storefront on the Cart & Checkout page in the store's Admin area (Store > Cart & Checkout). The "Default order to sort products within a category" setting is responsible for how products are arranged within a category.

Possible options are:

  • Recommended: The default value. The storefront products sorting reflects the product sorting in the Admin area. A store adimn can manually reorder products on the category products listing in the store's Admin area.

  • Newest first: Automatical sorting. Products are sorted by arrival date set on the product details page.

  • By Price - cheapest first: Automatical sorting. Products are sorted by price, the cheapest come first.

  • By Price - cheapest last: Automatical sorting. Products are sorted by price, the cheapest come last.

  • By Name - A-Z: Automatical sorting. Direct alphabetical sorting.

  • By Name - Z-A: Automatical sorting. Reverse alphabetical sorting.

  • Rate: Automatical sorting. Products are sorted by customer rate. Products with the highest rate display first.

  • Sales: Automatical sorting. Most saleable products display first.

If you selected Recommended and prefer to manually sort products within categories, follow the guides below.

On the a category product listing page in your store's Admin area (Catalog > Categories > Products):

  • Use the "Cross" icon opposite a product to drag-n-drop it to the required position in the list.

  • If the number of products in the list exceeds the max product number per page, the "Cross" icon changes to a "Pos." field that allows manually setting a product position in the list.

To set a product position in the list:

    • Hover a cursor over a product you want to edit to see the editable fields.

    • Edit the value of the Pos field. The less the number is, the higher the product position will be.

  • Click Save changes.
