Return Reasons

Learn how to configure and maintain return reasons.

The Return Reasons page of the Order Returns add-on (Store Setup -> Return Reasons) allows a store administrator to configure the acceptable conditions for stock returns. It is also possible to delete unnecessary reasons, rename them, and add new ones if required.

Managing Return Reasons List

The preset return reasons are as follows:

  • Damaged item

  • Wrong description

  • Wrong item

By default, reasons are sorted alphabetically. The sorting on the settings page affects the storefront display. You can re-sort reasons by drag-n-dropping them.

Also, the list of options includes the "Other" solution enabled by default. This solution allows customers to specify the preferred reason for return in a text area if it is not on the list. If you need to limit return reasons to the ones listed on the Return Reasons page of the Admin area, enable the "Hide the "Other" return reason for customers" setting.

Adding New Return Reasons

To add a new return reason, click New, specify the reason name in a new line, and save changes.

Editing Return Reasons

To edit the reason properties, click inside the name field, enter a new reason name, and save your changes.

Deleting Return Reasons

To delete a reason, use the Trash icon opposite it. Don't forget to click Save changes to confirm the deletion.
